Introduction to the Best Nootropic for Creativity

I’ve spent some time putting together a list of nootropics for creativity or the best nootropic for creativity.  Each of the six nootropics listed here has their individual characteristics and benefits as well as some that the others possess.  None of these nootropics will make you a creative person if you are not, they will enhance the creativity you already have or put you in a mental place that allows you to be creative.

Phosphatidylserine (PS)

This nootropic has to be one of the best nootropics available, but the least written or talked about. What it does and does well is support your mood, gives you better focus, support both your long and short term, memory and alleviate symptoms of anxiety.  IT’s a pretty impressive list that when put together are really good for promoting creativity.best nootropic for creativity

The ability of Phosphatidylserine to regulate or buffer the release of cortisol when we are in physical stress can help us concentrate and bring our memories and come up with creative solutions faster while under this physical stress [1].

There have been other studies around this and this one shows us that PS does support our long and short term memory, focus, ability to learn a new language and communication as well as problem-solving.  All of this supports and can promote our ability to be creative [2].

I’m going to put the benefits of each nootropic in a list for you to compare for yourself and see which would suit you better.

Here is the list of benefits of Phosphatidylserine

  • Improves Memory and Learning
  • Promotes Overall Brain Health
  • Promotes Attention

L-Theanine and Caffeine

I’ve talked about this nootropic stack a lot in Smartdrugsnootropics and it is for good reason.  It is a great stack that really does promote and increase a persons creativity.  What it does is give you a sense of relaxation and calm without being tired.best nootropic for creativity

The caffeine part is found in coffee of course or as a supplement and is the stimulant that will get you focused, but also gives you annoying side effects highlighted by the jitters. L-Theanine, on the other hand, gives you the relaxation and sense of calm.  It is found in green tea, an extremely popular tea throughout the world.

Put the two together and you have magic.  You get the stimulation from the caffeine to give you focus, and the l-theanine to keep the side effects of the caffeine at bay.

Here are the benefits of L-Theanine and Caffeine

  • Increased Focus
  • Increased Wakefulness, Without the annoying Jitters
  • Gives you a relaxed came and Focused feeling
  • Improves your mood
  • Improved your learning ability

Dosage

L-theanine: Anywhere from 100-300mg usually 200mg

Caffeine: 100mg. Some like 200mg of caffeine so you will have to try and see for yourself.

It is a very popular stack because of its simplicity, availability, low cost and of course its effectiveness.  It is also extremely safe with no side effects.

It is suggested to avoid tolerance you take it only when you expect you will need it.

Aniracetam

Aniracetam is part of a class of nootropics called Racetams. racetams are a group of chemically similar nootropics that produce a wide variety of cognitive enhancing benefits.

It is great true nootropic that has the ability to help us with different aspects of our creativity.  It gives us better motivation, better focus and decreases our level of anxiety.  Given these properties, it isn’t a stretch to see it leading to much better creativity given a great mindset.best nootropic for creativity

aniracetam stacks well with a choline source and the one I recommend is Alpha GPC.

Sulbutiamine

Sulbutiamine was produced as a far better version of vitamin B1 (Thiamine).  One of its best advantages is its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier much better and efficiently than B1.  Bing that is is a better version of Thiamine and crosses the blood-brain barrier more efficiently, you get enhanced benefits of Thiamine.

Sulbutiamine is known for its mood-boosting, anxiety-reducing, and cognitive-enhancing effects.  Put all of this together and you have a good recipe for better creativity.

Early animal studies confirmed that sulbutiamine improved long-term memory formation [3]. Good memory gives you goo things to draw upon allowing for better creativity.

There are popular stacks that may enhance the effects of Sulbutiamine even more.  Here is one that combines Sulbutiamine with Aniracetam and will definitely help anyone unleash their creativity

Take 1-2 times per day as needed

You can read my in-depth article on Sulbutiamine here

Phenibut for Creativity

Phenibut was created by the Soviet Union for the treatment of anxiety, depression, insomnia, and other disorders that can interfere with a person’s creative ability.   I’m not sure why Phenibut is left out sometimes when talking about nootropics that help with creativity when this is why it was created.  Let’s keep in mind that even so, Phenibut doesn’t give you or cause you to be creative.

Phenibut has the ability to put you into a calm state which allows you better focus given your task at hand.  Once you can focus and ignore outside distractions, Phenibut is a good friend for creativity.best nootropic for creativity

What phenibut also does is stimulate the dopamine receptors in our brains.  This will heighten our sense of pleasure betters our mood and motivation and the anti-anxiety effects allow us to find or improve our creative side.

Phenibut does well in stacks to improve the effects of other nootropics for creativity.

You should not combine this Phenibut with other GABA agonists (also known as GABAergics) like alcohol, because the stacking of these compounds may lead to more serious risks.

Side effects with Phenibut usage are the usual fatigue, nausea, lightheadedness, headaches, digestive upsets.  These are usually found in people taking higher than normal dosages

Cycling is suggested due to the tolerance that can build in as little as 5 days and its addictive nature.  Cycling smartly can prevent both tolerance and addiction to it.

Here is the List of Benefits of Phenibut for Creativity

  • Reduces Anxiety
  • reduces Stress
  • Gives us a sense of calm and relaxation
  • Promotes better cognitive performance

Dose

Between 250 mg and 1000 mg.  To prevent unwanted side effects and to find out how much is good for you. it is always recommended you start with the lower dose and allow your body time to adjust before increasing to the full amount.

Stacking

Phenibut’s ability to reduce anxiety makes it a great addition to a stack to elevate our mood.

This is a powerful, but successful stack to unleash your creative side 🙂

As needed and never daily

Coluracetam

Here is another racetam, a newer racetam with a few different benefits.  Being as new as it is it hasn’t got the attention of researchers as much as other racetams.  Even so, there are a few studies done that do show that this nootropic is a safe nootropic to take.

Coluracetam is thought to possibly be a treatment for depression and anxiety as well as memory issues.  It does boost our mood while reducing our anxiety levels.  It enhances our cognitive abilities best nootropic for creativityand has sensory-enhancing properties.

Just looking at what it can do for you is enough to realize it can increase our creativity.

Like the other racetams, coluracetam probably works best when taken with a choline source, like Alpha-GPC.

Here is the List of Benefits of Coluracetam

  • Improved Mood
  • Reduced Anxiety
  • Increased Sensory Perception
  • Improved Cognitive Performance

The recommended dosage for coluracetam is between 5 and 35mg. However, as a newer nootropic, there are no set guidelines as of now.

Dose

A low dose is between 250mg-500mg 3 times per day. That’s the recommended starting point.

To Wrap It Up

This is a pretty good list of nootropics for creativity.  There are six of them and all have these benefits.  However, not all nootropics work on everybody.  If one doesn’t give you the desired effects, just try another.  You will find one that works for you.

None of them give you creativity, they allow your creative side to show through, or enhance the creativity you already have.

I am the type of person that comes with new ideas on a regular basis so this got my attention right away. The L-Theanine and caffeine sounds great because of all of the benefits that follow.
