Genius Joy Review – The Happy Supplement

Genius Joy Review

Having seen a number of nootropic stacks claiming to make you feel upbeat, energetic and happy I go straight for the label and what I find or don’t find because it is hidden is Caffeine. Caffeine may be a nootropic, but I don’t like the side effects.  When I turn the jar of Genius Joy around and have a look at the label, I see natural ingredients and for sure not caffeine. It’s not a proprietary mix so no hiding here, it’s all good and all listed.  My Genius Joy review will go over all of these natural ingredients and what they do for you.

The serotonin booster is what Genius Joy is. It is formulated to naturally boost your serotonin levels. Serotonin being known as the happy chemical, having higher levels will naturally make us feel good and as they say, happy. Good things happen to us, up goes our serotonin, bad things happen and our dopamine levels go down.

Here are the benefits of Genius Joy

  • Boost your mood
  • Make you feel happier
  • Relieve stress
  • Reduce anxiety

Where the work gets done to achieve this list is outlined clearly on the label. It is a mix of vitamins, and natural ingredients and natural substances already found in our bodies.

Ingredients and What They do for You

Vitamin B

First is vitamin B.  The first thing to note is that there are many B vitamins, not just one, so here is a synopsis of the important jobs they do

  • B1 (Thiamine HCI) – helps turn glucose into energy, as well as helps our nervous system function optimally.
  • B2 (Riboflavin S-Phosphate) – produces energy in the body and assists with keeping vision and skin healthy.
  • B3 (Niacinamide) – converts carbohydrates into energy. Niacin is the only heat stable B vitamin.
  • B5 (D-Calcium Pantothenate) – is needed to produce red blood cells as well as metabolize proteins, fats and carbohydrates.
  • B6 (Pyridoxal 5-Phosphate) – helps brain processes and development as well as metabolizes carbohydrates and proteins.
  • B12 (Methylcobalamin) influences metabolic function, helps form red blood cells, improves mental ability and converts amino acids and fatty acids into energy your body can use.

Essential vitamins like these either cannot be made by the body or simply cannot be made in enough quantities. These vitamins are needed by the body to carry out its most basic tasks. Period!

B vitamins are here to do a multitude of jobs. From helping the metabolic system function to forming red blood cells and of course improving mental cognitive ability. There is one other that we are interested in today and that is energy.

Unfortunately, because B vitamins are needed in almost every process in the body, our body needs a lot more than what we probably provide it with. This is partially due to the food systems in place here in North America (I can’t speak for anywhere else).

Vitamin D3

Genius Joy also contains 250% of your daily dose of vitamin D3 which is pretty good. Our bodies produce vitamin D naturally when we’re out in the sun, but most of us don’t get enough sun. I take more than that per day myself and especially in winter where we don’t get a lot of sun and I feel great.

Not getting enough Vitamin D isn’t good. A deficiency has been linked to obesity, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disease, cancer, diabetes, and indeed depression. That’s a fairly long list.

The large amount of vitamin D in Genius Joy should give elevate your vitamin D levels and get you smiling again.

S-Adenosylmethionine Tosylate Disulfate (SAMe)

We’ll just call it SAMe. SAMe is a naturally occurring molecule, it plays an important regulatory role in the enzymatic pathways to neurotransmitter synthesis. Supplementing SAMe may improve our mood levels, reduce anxiety, and PMS symptoms. It may also improve our body’s antioxidant capacity.

SAMe also helps maintain acetylcholine levels for better brain function and promotes glutathione used to boost the body’s antioxidant defence.

There have been studies showing that SAMe may help with

  • Anxiety symptoms
  • PMS symptoms
  • Symptoms of Depression

N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine (NALT)

NALT is a modified version of the amino acid tyrosine that includes acetic acid. Acetic acid helps to increase the absorption rate and bioavailability of this ingredient, making it easier for the body to absorb and use it.

L-tyrosine plays a role in the production of several important neurotransmitters in the brain as a building block for dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, and thyroid hormones.

Elevated levels of tyrosine increase the production of these neurotransmitters when our bodies are in need of more.

Rhodiola Rosea

Also known as Arctic root or Golden Root, Rhodiola rosea is a plant found naturally in Northwestern China and Siberia.

Rhodiola is known as an adaptogen, meaning it helps the body adapt to stress while boosting endurance, energy and stamina.

  • Reduces Daily stress
  • Reduces symptoms of mild to moderate depression
  • Promotes feelings of general well-being
  • Reduces stress-related fatigue
  • It’s a mild stimulant so can Improve Energy and Alertness
  • There is some evidence of Cognitive Enhancement

The stress reduction and it’s ability to reduce fatigue make Rhodiola Rosea alone a feel-good adaptogen.

Red Panax Ginseng Root Powder

Like Rhodiola, ginseng is an adaptogen. It helps the body deal with mental, environmental and physical stress.

Usually, Ginseng is taken for stress and to boost our immune system or as a stimulant.

I’ve read many user reviews on this powder and most are very favourable. There is one however I certainly won’t argue with. Some say this herb relaxes the mind and body while others say it winds them up. This is where the ‘everyone is different’ statement comes in to play.

HTPurity comes from the African plant called Griffonia Simplififolia

It is a herbal extract of a serotonergic compound 5-HTP that when boosting serotonin levels has beneficial effects on your mood, sleep, appetite, anxiety and pain sensation.

Genius Joy’s 5-HTP comes from Griffonia simplicifolia, an African plant.

Coffea Arabica Extract (NeuroFactor)

Derived from the whole fruit of the coffee bean, NeuroFactor is a patented product and designed to boost brain function.

In a clinical study, NeuroFactor increased levels of BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) by 143%.

BDNF plays an important role in:

  • Improving memory
  • Enhancing learning ability
  • Improving Mood
  • Increasing alertness

L-Theanine (TheaKalm)

TheaKalm contains pure L-theanine. This little gem is known to help with concentration, attention, and alertness resulting in producing a calm state with those who take it. L-theanine is found in black, green and white tea

L-Theanine increases serotonin, dopamine, and GABA which improve our mood, ability to learn, and of course our memory.

It is clear Genius Joy has a calming effect, most people say it doesn’t cause drowsiness or the feeling of fatigue as some do.

If you suffer from depression and are on prescription anti-depressants, but want to consider a supplement like this, please consult with your doctor first as Genius Joy is not an anti-depressant.

It is an all natural mood enhancer with a lot of 5-star reviews wherever it is sold. The key benefits people have raved about are:

  • More energy
  • Better focus
  • More confidence
  • Less anxiety

  1. Wow! Thank you for writing this! I feel like this is something I could use and you definitely gave me the confidence to buy. Lately, it seems as though I have been struggling with anxiety and depression, which is something I have never had to deal with. After doing some research I’m 100% positive it is anxiety and depression. This is something I will be buying and using on the regular. It’s like you were the light at the end of my tunnel. Thank you!

    • It certainly can be.  This is why I decided to write about Genius Joy.  It is proven and a well put together nootropic stack.

Try it and check back later?

  2. I really enjoyed your review on genius joy and it sounds like a product I could really find a use for. I have been on anti depressants for 3 years and I would love to try this to see if I can reduce my medication.

The serotonin is something that would Likely be an Advantage for me as I try and wean myself of my meds.

  3. Thanks for the thorough review Stew! I have been trying to limit my caffeine intake lately, and it has left me feeling somewhat “droopy”. Something like Genius Joy could be just what I need.

I am a firm believer in herbal supplements, and am glad to see this is an option. I have previously tried a drink product that I ordered through a local sales rep, but the taste of it is so terrible I practically have to hold my nose to get it down! Plus I have to go pick it up. A couple capsules definitely seem easier and more palatable.

I am curious, though, about the coffee bean extract. Do you think there is caffeine as a result of that? Or, would it be so negligible that it really wouldn’t matter if I am trying to cut back?

  4. This is a very well made review for Genius Joy. I can definitely see myself trying this out due to how depressed I feel all the time.

I’d rather not take something cheap and over the counter as well as not something from the streets just to get a quick high on life.
I like how the ingredients are healthy and nootropic so that I don’t have to worry about harming myself and side effects.

Would you recommend this also for late night work/study to help keep me awake but not so full of pip that I can’t stay still?

  5. Thanks for taking out time to give a detailed review of such an amazing product. I have always used vitamin B12 as a supplement, but the mix of vitamin Bs I see in the label is really good, To then think that all of this are derived from natural products makes it an awesome product to use. I can’t wait to try it out.

  6. This is a great article very informative and well explain it.

Genius joy seems to be a great product for the benefit of taking especially for me dealing with high levels of stress, I will give it a try and hopefully can help me with this problem. I hope genius joy be worth it the try and not get any side effects.
