Nuboost Review – An Introduction
Today I want to talk about a popular product called Nuboost. Actually, this will be a Nuboost review and I will go over everything you will need to know to make an informed decision.
Energy, it’s what we want, it’s what we crave. Got kids? You get the picture. Have a fast-paced life with work, gym, social? I think we have it. The problem is we head to the nearest coffee shop and fill ourselves with caffeine. Sure, caffeine gives us energy, but it is short lived and then ‘crash’ off to get another one, and so on.
Here is where Nuboost comes to play. Nuboost offers a small natural blend of energy that’s long lasting and there is no crash.
I know, you look at the ingredients and you see natural caffeine listed there, but look at the ingredient right above it. This thing called L-theanine. Combine that with caffeine and you get great energy without jitters.
Nuboost is caffeine and L-theanine blend with a little black pepper for spice added in, but boy does this combination work.
Before I move on, I just want to add that Nuboost is suitable for vegans and free from any GMO, gluten, or other allergens.
Who is Cognitune?
Cognitune is the company behind Nuboost. They are a health and wellness company in the US specifically New York City. Their focus with their nootropic products is to have them enhance our mood, increase our memory, increase our energy levels, concentration and focus.
What They Say
Here’s essentially what Cognitune say about Nuboost.
Nuboost is intended to deliver an extra bit of both mental and physical energy and a cognitive boost when we need it. If I look at the product label, it also says we will get enhanced focus, clarity, and concentration all without the jitters and a crash when the effects wear off.
I tend to believe it because of the caffeine-l-theanine combination.
Ingredients of Nuboost
Some say L-Theanine is ‘meditation in a capsule’ or in a bag of green tea. The use of green tea for therapeutic benefits goes back a long way in China to almost 5,000 years ago. The Japanese are so into their green tea they have a ceremony for it and a tea house specifically for green tea.
Within around 30 minutes of consuming it either in green tea or supplementation, L-theanine has crossed the blood-brain barrier and begins to smooth out our brain waves, without flattening them .
L-theanine has also been shown to cause an increase in ALPHA wave activity which is the brainwave state associated with relaxation and attention. It gives us a feeling of relaxation without feeling sleepy.
This production of alpha brain waves also happens when we are asleep or when we are in a deep meditation state. This is when all sensory inputs are blocked and our mind is clear of any distractions and thoughts.
Studies show that because of the state of mind you are put in by drinking green tea you perform better on a working memory test. This happens because there is an increased connection between the frontal and parietal lobes when working memory processing .
Natural Caffeine Anhydrous (from Arabica Bean)
Anhydrous caffeine simply put is dehydrated caffeine where anhydrous means “without water.” You can find it by itself in pill, powder or tablet form.
Caffeine anhydrous is made from the seeds and leaves of coffee plants. After harvesting the plant, the caffeine is extracted from the plant and dehydrated. This produces a highly concentrated caffeine powder.
When caffeine enters your bloodstream it ends up in your brain. Once there it mimics adenosine. To a nerve cell, caffeine looks like adenosine.
It will then bind to the adenosine receptor. The problem for the adenosine receptor is that caffeine doesn’t slow down the cell’s activity as adenosine does. Now the cell can no longer identify adenosine because caffeine is taking up all the receptors that adenosine would normally bind to. The result is that caffeine speeds the nerve cell up instead of adenosine slowing it down. Caffeine also causes the brain’s blood vessels to constrict, because it blocks adenosine’s ability to open them up.
BioPerine® Black Pepper Extract (Piper Nigrum Fruit) (Standardized to 95% Piperine)
We all know what this is. It’s probably on your kitchen table or counter next to the salt. We use it to spice up our food every day. It comes from black pepper.
In this case, we don’t care to spice up our food, we want a nutrient in the pepper called Piperine or Bioperine where Bioperine is Piperine’s trademark name.
In the case of Nuboost, PioPerine is here to increase the level of absorption of nutrients in your body. What it really means is that you can get more from the nutrients you consume .
For example, I will use turmeric curcumin which I talk about here. What your body can absorb is only a very small amount of what you eat. Combining turmeric curcumin with Piperine will increase the amounts your body absorbs quite a bit.
Essentially Nuboost is an enhanced L-theanine-caffeine nootropic stack with Piperine in there to maximize absorption. This common stack without the piperine is probably the most popular and most effective nootropic stack in the world. It is used daily by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.
In order to get the proper balance of calm from l-theanine and energy from caffeine that produces calm energy without the caffeine side effects you need to have a 2:1 ratio between these ingredients (200 mg L-theanine to 100 mg caffeine). This will make sure the caffeine is kept in check. Nuboost provides that.
You can make it yourself if you are interested in that sort of thing or you can purchase the stack in capsule form. What Nuboost has done is to take the best ingredients of the two and added piperine to the mix to formulate their product.
- Their ingredients are in potent forms which can never be a bad thing.
- Bioperine may significantly improve the effects of the L-theanine-caffeine stack because of its nutrient absorption properties.
- Very affordable.
- It may support weight loss by accelerating metabolism
- Attention and mental performance due to better attention are what this stack is all about. Two ingredients, one purpose. If that’s what you want then this isn’t a ‘con’ is it.
- Other ingredients that boost mental performance could have been included.
None unless you take too much so don’t
The best way to start with Nuboost and the l-theanine-caffeine stack is to take one capsule at the beginning of your day and see how it feels. It probably won’t be too much for you unless you are sensitive to caffeine.
If you feel 2 per day would work for you then go for it.
Where to Buy
To Wrap it Up
If you want a nootropic supplement that will boost your mental and physical energy when you need it, this is for you. The problem with using this often during the day is the amount of caffeine you ingest if you are a frequent coffee drinker. If this is true, you may want to skip the coffee.
Wait, wait, this can actually be a good thing because you won’t need a coffee anymore because this supplement will give you the caffeine you want, but with the fantastic l-theanine benefits.
I’m not a coffee drinker at all so this supplement is right up my alley and maybe yours too.
There is another added benefit to this. Weight loss. Nuboost promotes weight loss because of thermogenesis. This is a side benefit of Nuboost and really isn’t a weight loss product.
