Performance Lab Mind Review Introduction
Performance Lab Mind is a stack that from the outside looks very minimalist with its short list of ingredients compared with other stacks on the market. I would have wondered how good it was until I realized it is made by the same people who make Mind Lab Pro. Need I say more and it’s now on my radar.
What Performance Lab Mind is, is an all in one stack that is supposed to cover things like your attention, memory, focus, ability to learn new things, and your concentration. That is a lot to cover in a stack with so little ingredients in it. Wait, but it also suggests it supports long term brain health.
Looking at the **all natural ingredients** and understanding what they do for you and how good they are, how well the ingredients are calculated, it made me sit up and think that this may just work?
So, what is it? Well, Performance Lab Mind is kind of a minimalistic or stripped down Mind Lab Pro targeting those who need good focus, memory, and attention. Those who are executives in competitive business, students studying at university, and athletes trying to stay at the top of their game.
Before I get into the ingredients, here’s what they say on their web site:
- Upgrades performance-oriented cognitive functions including focus, processing speed and motivation.
- Supports mental recovery.
- Reduces the mental burnout effects of stress, multitasking and overworking.
- Supports healthy brain regeneration and plasticity.
- Memory and learning while optimizing the brain’s structure for long-range health Prevents ‘burnout’ from over-working or stress.
- Aids multi-tasking

The fact that there are only four ingredients as the formula, they need to be the best at what they do and be the best form of the supplement there is.
I like that they use Cognizen as their form of choline. From our article on Understanding Choline, we see CDP-Choline as probably the best choice. Cognizen is an improvement on CDP-Choline.
What you can see from the formula is that you have a product that works in the short term and the long term. They managed with the specific ingredients needed to do this
Citicoline (as Cognizin®)
Cognizin is a proprietary form of citicoline. It is very potent as a brain health supplement and has been clinically tested to support attention and recall. Cognizin is a highly bioavailable form of citicoline used in some of the better brands of nootropic stacks.
Tested in human clinical trials and developed using a patented fermentation process, Cognizin is a pure, allergen-free GRAS ingredient that’s stable and very effective.
Cognizin Citicoline has been shown to increase ATP which is important for mitochondria which provide brain cells with energy .
Studies have shown that it has the ability to increase motor speed, improve attention, increase energy to the brain, encourage the formation of brain cell membranes, and reduce the impulsiveness of ADHD.
it is capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier quite easily. Once this happens, Phosphatidylserine binds with neurotransmitters and enables the brain to metabolize glucose more efficiently.
Phosphatidylserine also helps to enhance the communication between our brain cells. It can increase the fluidity of cell membranes in neurons that had been previously damaged or were suffering signs of age. These neurons then become revitalized and capable of receiving and sending messages faster once again. Phosphatidylserine also enables the brain to more easily restore its supply of the key neurotransmitter Acetylcholine.
Many studies have shown that it may boost brain power. In studies, those who took Phosphatidylserine rated higher on short term memory, mood, and concentration.
As this study shows, just 100mg of Phosphatidylserine is able to improve memory function in people with age-related memory impairment.
Many users report that taking it gives them better mental energy and an improvement in focus and concentration. These benefits are thought to be long term and may slow down the ageing of our brains.
This is an amino acid that influences adrenaline and dopamine in the brain in order to reduce stress and mental performance. If you want very reliable acute boosts to your cognition and mood when in stressful situations such as exam time or research paper deadline, this is the way to go.
Studies are showing that NALT increases the mood in military personnel who are exposed to cold and altitude .
NALT also protects our memory against stress. In fact, a study shows us that L-tyrosine can increase the concentration of adrenaline and actually reverse stress-related memory loss .
Maritime Pine Bark Extract (Std. for min. 95% proanthocyanidins)
Maritime pine is a species of a tree more formally known as Pinus Pinaster. It is found along coastal areas around Southern Europe, although it has migrated from its native Mediterranean home to other parts of the world including the UK, US, and parts of South America.
Maritime Pine Bark Extract contains complex compounds called proanthocyanidin antioxidants, which are sometimes referred to as tannins and they have some great properties associated with them. These antioxidants remove free radicals from our blood.
Maritime pine Bark does support cognition in several ways. It improves our cerebral circulation, it reduces free radicals and damage from them, and it enhances brain cell regeneration.

Reviewing it All
Looking at this product it is easy to see that some real thought went into choosing which ingredients and in what form they were chosen. Given that there are only 4 ingredients, let’s review them all.
First, there are 2 ingredients to maintain our brain health. They are:
Maritime Pine Bark Extract which contains proanthocyanidin antioxidants that easily crosses the blood-brain barrier and fight free radicals.
The other two ingredients are responsible for our cognitive performance.
Cognizen Citicoline supports attention and recall, improves attention, and increases energy to the brain.
Performance Lab Mind Stacks well with Acetyl-L-Carnitine. Read my article here
Looking at these two groups of ingredients and their functions within the formula, it does appear that Mind Lab Pro has covered the bases they have set out to cover.
If you want a more complete nootropic that covers more of a complete package with a lot more diverse ingredients you might want to try Mind Lab Pro.
